About The Venue

Established in 1945 and celebrating 78 years of community service, the Hood River Saddle Club strives to maintain and operate a not-for-profit public facility to promote horseback riding as a sport; to disseminate information of interest in horses, horsemanship, and the sport of horseback riding; to encourage the ownership of saddle horses; to cooperate with other horse organizations in all matters relating to horsemanship and ownership of horses; to sponsor or facilitate functions related to the sport and generally encourage all responsible horse activities with promoting a sustained interest in the sport of horsemanship.

  • Dry Camping Only, Sorry no Hookups.  Water available. Plenty of room to set up your own portable corrals/pens.
  • Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times and must be picked up after.  

Event Details

Offering In-Hand Friday Evening, In-Hand & Mounted Obstacle Challenges on Saturday, and Mounted Obstacle Challenge Sunday.  All events will be included in the NW Regional Tournament Qualifiers,

  • You can look forward to Challenging and Fun Obstacles both on the established Trail Course and in the surrounding areas.
  • If you are showing multiple horses we request that you show in different divisions.  
  • Warm-up daily in the round corral or around the parameter of the facility. Thursday the arena will also be available for warm up.  Course will be Closed.  Be assured we will have some surprises in store for you.

The Terrain

  • Grass and dirt footing, shoes not necessary.

Meals

  • Breakfast & Lunch On Your Own (we are working on getting a food truck or BBQ burgers & dogs meals)
  • Saturday Evening Pot Luck (Bring your Favorite Beverage) and campfire gathering (conditions permitting)

 

Awards

Beautiful ETS Ribbons 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced, 1st-3rd place Junior (age 13-17), 1st-3rd place Youngin' (age 7-12), and 1st place Newcomer.  Additional awards TBD

Weekend Hi-Point Awards Advanced, Intermediate, Novice, Male Partnership, Female Partnership, see HRSC Tournament for details.

 

Additional Fees

Pen & Dry Camping fees reserved on-line at time of registration and PAID when you arrive at venue.  We are working on securing additional portable stalls at this time, amenities will be updated as information becomes available.  There will be no horses allowed to overnight at anytime in the round corral.  Please no loose horses in the arena.

PENS ARE LIMITED, WHEN FULL PLEASE CALL THE RIDEHOST AT (541) 806-0059 TO GET ON THE WAITING LIST (As of March 2nd there were 4 pens available).

Event Host Directions:

Located on the Corner of Belmont and Country Club.  

From Eastbound I-84 take Exit 62, turn Right

From Westbound 1-84 take Exit 62, turn Left

Turn Right at Mid-Columbia Motor Sports 1st Road on the Right (Wine Country Ave which turns into Country Club)

Continue up hill (you may need to gear down)

Saddle Club is on the Left, you will be able to see the arena, club house and caretaker trailer from road.  There are 3 entrances.  Watch for the signs.
