About The Venue

Paradise Horsemen's Association and Arena was founded 1989.  As a non-profit 501(c) Association the core of efforts is to preserve the Paradise Horse Arena, bring community awareness to our equine heritage and provide educational, fun, competitive events for everyone.

Dry camping is free, 12' x 12' paddocks are $15/night. Reserve your spot at the "Register" button above.No charge for day parking.

Event Details

This two-day challenge will consist of FOUR events in Arena & Trail

Saturday In-Hand Obstacle Challenge (IH) - the In-Hand event obstacles are completed dismounted. You may be saddled, halters with leads are recommended. All non-riding equines are welcome and encouraged to compete!

Saturday Obstacle Trail Challenge (OT)  - A relaxing 2 mile trail ride with judged obstacles placed in camp and/or on trail (weather/footing pending).  

Sunday Mounted Obstacle Challenge (OC)  - the Mounted event obstacles are completed while riding in the saddle in the arena. All riding disciplines are welcome as well as bit-less head stalls.

Sunday Obstacle Trail Challenge (OT) - A relaxing 2 mile trail ride with judged obstacles placed in camp and/or on the trail (weather/footing pending).  

 

The Terrain

Arena sand footing, single track & wide trail packed dirt, asphalt street crossing in rural neighborhood.

Meals

Concession stand will be available with BBQ hamburgers, hot dogs, chili, snack, drinks, coffee, hot chocolate, etc

These events qualify for the 2022 NorCal SPRING Buckle Series! (awarded at our May 14 - 15 event weekend)

Follow I-5 S and CA-99 S to Chico. Take exit 383 from CA-99 S, Take exit 2A to merge onto I-5 S toward Sacramento for 29.5 mi, Take exit 649 for CA-36/Antelope Blvd toward Central Red Blf/CA-99/Chico/Fair Ground/Lassen Nat'l Pk Continue to follow Antelope Blvd for 2.8 mi, Continue onto CA-99 S for 39.2 mi, Take exit 383 toward Skyway/Park Ave, Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto Skyway for 12.5 mi, turn right onto Bille Rd for 0.8 mi,Turn left onto Clark Rd for 1.2 mi, Turn left onto Forest Srv Rd, Turn right onto Moore Rd
