The Dream River Ranch is an 80-acre working horse ranch and equestrian facility. Camp overnight in our Glamp-ground under the starry New Moon skies. Rent a teepee or the yurt for the weekend, or bring your tent or camper and enjoy the solace of our wide-open spaces. We are located 30-min east of Boise and 90-min west of Twin Falls with easy on and off the I-84. Rolling prairie terrain on the Oregon Trail fuels the imagination of old wagon train days.
This is a themed event because we like to do that sort of stuff here. The theme is A Mid-Summer Night's Dream. Yes, there will be a non-ETS judged costume event during the weekend's activities. It will take place during the Obstacle Course on Sunday... costumes judged separately. Pick your period of history, or come as you are.
Friday evening In-Hand Challenge Course. Saturday Trail Challenge followed by an evening Dutch oven feast, demonstration of medieval games and music. Sunday Mounted Obstacle Challenge... costumes optional.
Proceeds go to Students and Horses Excel, Inc. - a 501(c)3 charitable organization utilizing horses to help heal families with special needs including, but not limited too, autism, PTSD, MS, domestic violence and wounded soldiers.
Arenas are sand, outdoor course is grass. Challenging obstacles on trails of prairie grasses in and out of sage brush over rolling hills and winding riverbeds. Yes, there is a pond. There are occasional rocks, but shoes are not required... barefoot is safe.
Friday you're on your own. Meet and greet around the campfire.
Saturday morning snacks during Trail Obstacle Challenge registration. Saturday night Dutch oven feast and entertainment.
Sunday morning snacks during Costume Class registration.
