About The Venue

Red Arena has acquired a 40-acre ranch that will be used for additional Red Arena therapy and work programs. It is adjacent to Bar 10 Ranch, which is a 460-acre private ranch in the Texas Hill Country. Your 5-mile course each day will venture through the beautiful hill country of these two properties. You'll experience the crystal clear Barton Creek, open fields, Live Oaks, Spanish Oaks, Elms, Sycamore, Persimmon, and all kinds of natural wildlife!

Primitive camping, generators, portable pens are allowed. There will be a porta-potty on-site and a couple of troughs for water for the horses. You'll want to bring your own water if you plan on primitive camping. 

Event Details

RED ARENA, a Therapeutic Riding Center helping kids and adults with disabilities and located in Dripping Springs, is holding their annual fundraiser Round-Up this weekend, and your entry to the trail challenge contributes directly to the fundraiser. There will be a 5 mile Trail Challenge on Saturday & Sunday. Come to one or both events!

Due to Covid-19, the fundraiser is being held with social distance in mind. They will still have their Silent Auction and some other festivities. Click here for more info on Round-Up. All proceeds from this event go to Red Arena.

Social Distance guidelines will be followed according to our governed regulations. A mask is required if you are under the tent where the Silent Auction is held and if you are less than 6' from others that are not within your group/family.

The Terrain

Boots/Shoes are recommended. Compared to the terrain in the typical Hill Country, this ranch does not have much rock, but it is hard ground and there are a couple of rocky spots.

Meals

Sat 8am-10am: Coffee and light breakfast available for purchase from Runaway Luna

Sat 5pm-7pm: BBQ dinner plates $25 includes 1 complimentary adult beverage

Sun 11am-2pm: BBQ lunch plates $20  

Awards

Ribbons and awards will be given to 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. 1st-3rd place ribbons for Youngin's (7-12 years old) and 1st-3rd place ribbons for Juniors (13-17 years old). Recognition ribbon to the highest point Newcomer!

Additional Fees

There are no amenities at Red Arena Ranch except primitive camping, but there are amenities available at the Dripping Springs Ranch Park, less than 8 miles from the ranch. Online reservations are available on the DSRP website. You can also call 512-894-2390 or email enelson@cityofdrippingsprings.com (email is fastest).

DSRP Amenities:

• Stalls $25/night 
• Shavings $8/bag - must be bought through DSRP, 2 bag minimum
• Hook-Ups $40/night - come with water and dump station (30 Amp, 50 Amp, 120 Volt)

Additional Opportunities

There will be a large Silent Auction in the open-air tent, which is part of the Round-Up festivities! Masks will be required when browsing the silent auction.
