About The Venue

This is the first event in Montana!  There is no Membership charge for this event, simply toggle to the Daypass zero option when registering. 

Thunder Ridge Riding Center is located on the historic Blue C Ranch at the foot of the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness of the gorgeous Kaniksu National Forest. We are easy to get to, being just off of Hwy 200, with plenty of parking and turnaround space. Friday Check-in begins at 3:00 PM MDT, 2:00 PM PDT.

A few paddocks are available, and participants are welcome to set up their own temporary corrals at their rig. Stallions are welcome, and participants are responsible for their containment at all times. Please leave no trace!

Be aware that there is NO CELL SERVICE on the ranch. There is a landline and WiFi for urgent calls and communication only. Electricity is limited and all camping is primitive with water available. Be prepared to camp accordingly. We will have Porta-potties on site as well.

On Saturday we will hold the Trail Challenge on over 5 miles of trail!

Sunday will be the Obstacle Course. Ponies welcome!!

The Terrain

Terrain is varied with mild hills, open straightaways, forested trails, and one small area with gravel. There are lots of logs and natural obstacles throughout the trail!

The ground is mostly clay/loam with one short section and obstacle on gravel. The ground can be very hard when it's dry!

Meals

We are offering a very special dining opportunity for everyone!! Lunch on Saturday will be pulled pork sandwiches with side, snack and beverage (coffee, iced tea, water, or soda pop), Substitute available if you have dietary restrictions.

Dinner Saturday night will be a traditional chuck wagon steak dinner with all the trimmings, cooked over the open campfire and enjoyed with a jam session and campfire sing! If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance!

Breakfast Sunday morning will be a traditional chuck wagon cowboy breakfast with Cowboy eggs, bacon, flapjacks and hashbrowns cooked on the open campfire. Coffee, tea, OJ, and milk will also be offered.

Meals may be purchased individually, or you may take advantage of our meal plan and camp for free! Ala Carte items will be available and the ranch store will be open for your convenience with standard snacks and refreshments.
