Saddle Up Ranch opened in November of 2012 as a rescue and rehabilitation ranch to help horses that have been abandoned, abused, or neglected. We provide long term care for our rescues, horse training, lessons, consignment sales, trail rides, wine tours, camping and much more.
Our volunteers come from all over the world and actually live on site. The owner, TJ Davis, is a professional equestrian that travels all over the world as a specialist rider. Her services are highly sought after for horses who have been deemed "dangerous" or "untrainable". These events will serve as our 8 year anniversary fundraiser where proceeds will go to the rescues.
We will have an Obstacle Course Challenge on Saturday morning, followed by a fun 5-mile Recreational Poker Ride Saturday afternoon.
Sunday we will also have a 5 mile Trail Challenge.
Our trails are mostly nice soft sand. There is a short section on a compacted dirt road with some pebbles. Most of our horses go barefoot without any problems. A few of our horses with poor conformation/hooves need shoes.
Our terrain is mostly gently rolling terrain with a few short steeper climbs and descents. We have some very old horses ages 24-29 that handle it no problem. Weekend warriors should be able to handle the selected trail without issues. We also take our beginner trail riders on this trail with no problems.
It is very scenic and beautiful as we have amazing mountain views on multiple sides.
Please sign up for meals when you register so we can be prepared with enough food!
Meals can be bought on-site for any last-minute guests but we will be better prepared if we know ahead of time approximately how much food is needed!
Beautiful ribbons 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced! 1st-3rd place Junior (age 13-17), 1st-3rd place Youngin' (age 7-12), and 1st place Newcomer!
*Bring CASH to pay for additional fees!*
Payment for ALL Amenities reserved at the time of online registration are due ON SITE and are NOT collected at the time of online registration.
The fees are per horse per day or per horse per night. This means that if you are staying overnight and paying the overnight grounds fee, your day fee is included!
Please contact us if you have any questions or are new to ETS. Don't be afraid to try this out. It is a very fun equestrian community and you will love the sport, the people and the atmosphere. If you think you aren't quite ready to compete, come on out and watch the Obstacle Challenge on Saturday morning and join in on the Poker Ride in the afternoon! Then try the Trail Challenge on Sunday!
If you do not have your own horse, we have a limited amount of horses for you to rent to try out the sport or participate in the recreational ride. Please contact us directly. You can also come and ride our horses any weekday or weekend before the event to get to know the horse you want to ride for the event.
