About The Venue

Due to inclement weather on February 4th, this event has been rescheduled to Sunday February 25th, 2024. 

Sunday's Event will be at Reposo Farm & Feeds in Folsom, LA.   The In-Hand and Obstacle Course events will utilize a well-groomed arena and some of the obstacles in the 3-acre obstacle field, all with a MARDI GRAS TWIST!   

Shavings, Alfahay, and Total Equine Feeds available for purchase in the on-site feed store. 

Camping options at Reposo Farm include paddocks, stalls and hookups and primitive camping. Call Lisa for reservations 985-966-5591.

There are also camping options at Bogue Chitto State Park in Franklinton, LA (25-30 minutes north). Go to https://reservations.gooutdoorslouisiana.com/ for reservations. Look for equine camping. The new stalls may/may not be completed by this event. If not, you will have to supply own paddock or tie your horse overnight. 

$5 Ranch fee due cash on site if you are only registered for the In Hand event. 

Coggins will be checked on arrival. 

Event Details

Sunday Morning includes an In-Hand event In Hand (IH) – a dismounted event in an arena/field, halter and lead rope preferred. All equines welcome – any size, breed, and age.

Sunday Afternoon is a  Mounted Obstacle Course (OC) – a mounted event in an arena/field. A saddle (treeless included) and headstall with reins are required. All riding disciplines are welcome.

These events will be part of the Louisiana Lagniappe (something extra) Tournament Series. Look for other events April 27 & 28th and December 8th!  Competitors must participate in at least 3 of 7 events of this series to qualify for Series Champions. 

PLEASE NOTE - Minors 17 and under are REQUIRED to wear HELMETS.  A limited number of helmets can be available for rent at $5/day. There are no tie downs, martingales or stud chains allowed as equipment on your equine.  

There are 3 Levels of Challenge at each obstacle. You can pick your difficulty at each obstacle!    

The Terrain

Sunday's footing is between a flat sand arena and a grass field with a possible crossing of a gravel driveway.

Meals

Sunday lunch $10, Sunday dinner $15. Other concessions will be available 

Reserve when Registering . Limited meals will be available as walk up.

Saturday on your own. 

Awards

Beautiful ribbons 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced! 1st-3rd place Junior (age 13-17), 1st-3rd place Youngin' (age 7-12), and 1st place Newcomer!

Lifetime Awards (Equine & Rider) - Sign up 2 weeks in advance to get your qualifying awards!

Equine Carrot Club - Your equine will earn a beautiful kilt pin adding copper, bronze, silver, and golden carrot charms as they progress through the levels. Equine points accumulate no matter who rides the equine. 

Star Rider Club - You will earn a beautiful kilt pin adding copper, bronze, silver, and golden star charms as you progress through the levels. This kilt pin will come with an Equine Trail Sports iron-on patch to attach it to. Rider Points accumulate no matter which equine is ridden. 

Additional Fees

Payment for all stalls, paddocks and hook ups are handled by 50%  deposit through Lisa@reposofarm.com or 985-966-5591 and then remainder paid on arrival.  Stalls/pens are $20-$30/night, hookups are $25/night.  Primitive camping at Reposo is $15/rig.    

Sunday's event fee includes a $1 tournament fee and obstacle course a  $5 Ranch Fee for Reposo Farms.  If only registered for In hand event the $5 ranch fee is due cash on site

Additional Opportunities

The beautiful 1800 acre Bogue Chitto State Park is less than 30 minutes from Reposo Farm. It is one of only a couple Louisiana State Parks with horse trails.  Must present coggins at front check in.  $3/pp and $3/horse daily entry fees. There are also 7 full-service hookups in the Equine Trail Head. Reservations are greatly suggested as it may be a busy camping weekend.  Go to  https://reservations.gooutdoorslouisiana.com  or call 1-833-609-0686 to book your camping spot. Also at the park: fishing, disc golf, hiking, mountain bike trails, kids park, beach area, canoeing and tubing down the river, and much more.

Reposo Farms is easily found by GPS, however, sometimes GPS shows us as the first property on the right on our street.  We are actually the second driveway on the left.
