About The Venue

Welcome to Tamarind Ranch, our families home in which we share our love for the wonder of horses and horseback riding with great people and equine.

Tamarind Ranch is a 25 acre property that hosts a sand round pen, 72x131 covered arena with excellent footing.  15 acres of forested trail are available for trail rides and walks.  Self Contained/Dry camping is allowed.  Personal portable corrals are acceptable and can be set up near your campsites. We offer boarding that includes 6 stalls and 5 paddocks with cover and pasture board.  In addition to the registration fee paid to ETS a $20 facility fee will be collected the day of the event to support the ranch. 

For the safety and comfort of all riders and equines, there are no dogs nor other pets permitted on the property during events. 

Event Details

Saturday

In Hand (IH) – a dismounted event in an arena/field, halter and lead rope preferred. All equines welcome – any size, breed, and age.

Obstacle Trail (OT) – a relaxing short trail ride with judged obstacles along the trail and possibly in camp. All riding disciplines are welcome.

Sunday

Trail Challenge (TC) – a relaxing trail ride with judged obstacles along the trail and possibly in camp. All riding disciplines are welcome.

CAMPING for this Show is up a hill and further away.  It is a 3/4 mile hike to the camping area from the Arena.  

The Terrain

There is a variety of terrain throughout the property.

Shoes: Shoes or Boots HIGHLY recommended. 

Facility:  Gravel roads throughout the property and entrance

Arena: Sand footing

Trails: Gravel all around arena and roads (shoes or boots recommended) Dirt, mixed gravel, wooded area, lots of trees

Meals

Potluck Saturday Night.  Please join us in the clubhouse and on the patio for potluck dinner. Bring a side dish to share and your own beverages.

Meals are on your own but you are welcome to be social in the clubhouse area. 

Awards

Beautiful ribbons - 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced! 1st-3rd place Junior (age 13-17), 1st-3rd place Youngin' (age 7-12), and 1st place Newcomer.

Lifetime Awards (Equine & Rider) - Sign up 2 weeks in advance to get your qualifying awards!

Equine Awards - Your equine will earn a beautiful kilt pin adding copper, bronze, silver, and golden carrot charms as they progress through the levels. Equine points accumulate no matter who rides the equine. 

Rider Awards - You will earn a beautiful kilt pin adding copper, bronze, silver, and golden star charms as you progress through the levels. Rider Points accumulate no matter which equine is ridden. 

Belt Buckles: High Point Awards for  Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Newby Belt Buckles will be given at the 3rd and final Tamarind Ranch Event of the year. 

Additional Fees

Additional Horses who are in personal containment as well as daily haul ins are required to pay $20 daily fee.

Payment for ALL Amenities reserved at the time of online registration are due ON SITE and are NOT collected at the time of online registration. Cash, Check, or Zelle please.

Registering online will give you the best (early bird) pricing! There is a $10 increase per entry for onsite registration.

Event Host Directions:

GPS: Gps will work correctly if you enter the name Tamarind Ranch. Using the address will send you to the neighbors house. Don't go there..

Location: Tamarind Ranch is apprx 7.6 miles east off Interstate 205 in the community of Redland in Oregon City OR.

Gate: If you arrive during the event hours the entry gate will be open.

Directions: 

  • 205 exit #10
  • Oregon City / Molalla exit
  • Turn right on Redland Road (the second light) 
  • 7.2 miles on Redland Rd to Lyons. 
  • Turn right on Lyons Rd (at the cemetery)
  • We are 4/10 of a mile on the right hand side of Lyons from Redland road
  • There is a white sign that has the Tamarind Ranch, Glover Family Logos on it. 
  • That's our gate.
