About The Venue

7IL Ranch is a 1150 acre working cattle ranch founded in 1856. With over 30 miles of permanently marked barefoot friendly trails through gently rolling fields, woods and shallow creeks the ranch is a favorite for trail and endurance riders.  The ranch also boasts its newest addition; an impressive obstacle course with over 26 challenging obstacles.

The ranch is open all year round for camping and riding. 

The ranch has a large lighted outdoor arena, round pens, climate-controlled rest rooms with showers and a large, enclosed pavilion for meetings and meals.

RV Hook ups with water and electricity, and horse pens are available and can be reserved online at https://7ilranch.com/reservations Ranch fees can be paid online at  https://7ilranch.com , select the Online Payments Pay Now button, please show your receipt at check-in.

Primitive camping (generator and non-generator) and portable horse pens are OK!  You will be charged 10.00 per person at the ranch.  In addition non riders are charged a ranch fee of 5.00 per day.  Dry camping and ranch fees are paid online at  https://7ilranch.com , select the Online Payments Pay Now button, please show your receipt at check-in. 

Dogs are allowed and MUST BE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES.  Dogs are not allowed on the course or during meals in the pavilion,  These are ranch rules and must be followed!

Event Details

Saturday and Sunday

Trail Challenge (TC) – a relaxing trail ride with judged obstacles along the trail and possibly in camp. All riding disciplines are welcome.

The Terrain

Barefoot friendly sandy loam trails through woods, pastures and shallow creek crossings.

Meals

There is no food or water on site for purchase, please come prepared.

Awards

Beautiful ribbons - 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced! 1st-3rd place Junior (age 13-17), 1st-3rd place Youngin' (age 7-12), and 1st place Newcomer.

Lifetime Awards (Equine & Rider) - Sign up 2 weeks in advance to get your qualifying awards!

Equine Awards - Your equine will earn a beautiful kilt pin adding copper, bronze, silver, and golden carrot charms as they progress through the levels. Equine points accumulate no matter who rides the equine. 

Rider Awards - You will earn a beautiful kilt pin adding copper, bronze, silver, and golden star charms as you progress through the levels. Rider Points accumulate no matter which equine is ridden. 

There will be a weekend High Point Award. 

This will be part of the Wild Wild West event series.

Additional Fees

Payment for ALL Amenities reserved at the time of online registration are due ON SITE and are NOT collected at the time of online registration.

Registering online will give you the best (early bird) pricing! There is a $10 increase per entry for onsite registration.
