Located just a few miles south of the horse capital of the world in beautiful Wilmore, Kentucky, the Asbury University Equine Program strives for its students to become Christ-centered leaders in the equine Industry. The Equine Center was the dream of Harold Rainwater beginning in 1978, and he remains the Center's Director today. Under his leadership the Center now has 341 beautiful acres which consists of pasture fields, trails, 3 round pens, 2 barns, an indoor riding arena, and two outdoor riding arenas. To read more about the Asbury University Equine Program click here: https://www.asbury.edu/academics/departments/natural-sciences/hper/equine-center
Current Coggins and Health Certificate are required for each horse brought onto the property. An Asbury University "Release of Liability" must be signed at Registration. Stalling is available for overnight, as is camping with generators. Although there is no fee for overnight camping, please indicate how many nights you will be staying when you sign up online. Daily stall fees are $15 per stall. Bedding is included. There are a limited number of stalls available, please reserve them with your online ride registration. Restrooms are available in the barns.
There will be an In-Hand Challenge held in one of our arenas. There will be 8 obstacles set up in and/or around the arena.
Along with the In-Hand arena challenge, we will also be having a trail challenge through some of our trails and across our pastures as well as some obstacles in/or around our outdoor arena.
For those who are hoping to compete in both the In-Hand arena challenge and the trail challenge, we will coordinate so that you are able to do both.
The trails are set in the Palisades along the Kentucky River. Some areas of the trail can be rugged and rocky. Horse trail boots or shoes are optional. The arenas are maintained well to serve various equine programs at the University.
For a small fee we will be offering a lunchtime meal for those who are interested.
Beautiful ribbons 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced!
There will be special prizes and awards given out!
