About The Venue

The 595-acre St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville contains more than 100 acres of woodlands, prairies and wetlands. 

Overnight stalls are available but no camping accommodations are offered for challenge participants. Camping may be available at nearby Blackwell Forest Preserve.  Lodging is available in nearby Lisle or Naperville.

The center is owned and operated by the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County.

Event Details

Bring your horse and test your skills in a friendly riding competition.

Saturday trail; Sunday in-hand obstacle; and mounted obstacle. Choose from any of three challenges that best suit your horse and skill set: 

***Please be aware that Illinois does require that a horse that is traveling from out of state must have a health certificate (with an entry number) and a Coggins to enter a competition.

The Terrain

The trail is a multipurpose limestone trail with minimal rolling terrain. St.James Farm also offers grassy trails. The trailer parking lot is turf.

Most horses who normally do not wear shoes are comfortable on challenge surfaces; use your discretion.

Meals

Saturday no food will be provided by the event.

We will be catering in Sausage, Peppers, House Salad and Pasta Salad from Buona Beef on Sunday between the In-Hand competition and the Mounted Competition. Lemonade and Iced Tea will also be provided.

It will be $9 per person, please add on in the amenities if you wish to partake.  

Awards

ETS ribbons for novice, intermediate, and advanced: first through sixth-place. Junior (ages 13 – 17): first through third place. Youngin’ (ages 7 – 12): first through third place. Newcomer: first place.

Additional Danada and Forest Preserve District prizes are offered.

Payment for ALL Amenities reserved at the time of online registration are due ON SITE and are NOT collected at the time of online registration.
