About The Venue

BBQ Flats Horse Camp requires a DISCOVER PASS with no further camping fees; and comes with the understanding that amenities might be limited, and campers are expected to be self-sufficient and practice Leave No Trace principles. Manure trailer will be provided for a fee.

Stock water will be available.

Event Details

Trail Challenge (TC) – a relaxing trail ride with judged obstacles along the trail and possibly in camp. All riding disciplines are welcome. All minors 17 & under must wear a helmet. Ages 7-13 must have an adult rider with them while on the trail. Saddle required, headstall/bridle must go over the poll of the horse, proper equestrian footwear with 1/2" heel required.

The Terrain

The terrain of these trails would be indicative of the Yakima Valley region, potentially including varied landscapes such as open fields, wooded areas, and possibly some elevation changes as they venture into the nearby hills or mountains. Trails will go thru forest with changes of footing.  We will be riding Green Dot and Abandon Logging Roads.  Footing varies, with some rocky spots, but all areas are wide and can be ridden to the side.  Expect elevation gains with amazing views.  

Please, you know your equine and your choice is best. Barefoot, Booted or Shod.

Meals

Breakfast and Lunch are on your own.  Pot luck Saturday evening.  Bring your favorite dish or dessert to share along with the beverage of your choice.  Plates and utensils will be provided.

Awards

Lifetime Awards (Equine & Rider) - Sign up 2 weeks in advance to get your qualifying awards!

Equine Awards - Your equine will earn a beautiful kilt pin adding copper, bronze, silver, and golden carrot charms as they progress through the levels. Equine points accumulate no matter who rides the equine. 

Rider Awards - You will earn a beautiful kilt pin adding copper, bronze, silver, and golden star charms as you progress through the levels. Rider Points accumulate no matter which equine is ridden. 

Beautiful ribbons - 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced! 1st-3rd place Junior (age 13-17), 1st-3rd place Youngin' (age 7-12), and 1st place Newcomer. Weekend High Point Awards will be awarded to Novice, Intermediate & Advanced.

Payment for ALL Amenities reserved at the time of online registration are due ON SITE and are NOT collected at the time of online registration.  Cash or Checks please, Wifi is limited, so no VEMNO or Paypal will be excepted.

Area is a pack in-pack out, manure disposal trailer will be available for a fee of $10 per horse to cover hauling and disposal fee.

Registering online will give you the best (early bird) pricing! There is a $10 increase per entry for onsite registration.
