Welcome to Tamarind Ranch, our family's home where we share our love for the wonder of horses and horseback riding with great people and equines.
Tamarind Ranch is a 25 acre property that hosts a sand round pen, 72x131 covered arena with excellent footing. 15 acres of forested trail are available for trail rides and walks. Self Contained/Dry camping is allowed. Personal portable corrals are acceptable and can be set up near your campsites. We offer boarding that includes 6 stalls and 5 paddocks with cover and pasture board. In addition to the registration fee paid to ETS a $20 facility fee will be collected the day of the event to support the ranch.
Pets are welcome to stay with you at the camping area, but are not to be brought to the event areas. Please be advised that there are loose dogs who live in property.
Saturday
In Hand (IH) – a dismounted event in an arena/field, halter and lead rope preferred. All equines welcome – any size, breed, and age.
Obstacle Trail (OT) – a relaxing short trail ride with judged obstacles along the trail and possibly in camp. All riding disciplines are welcome.
Sunday
Trail Challenge (TC) – a relaxing trail ride with judged obstacles along the trail and possibly in camp. All riding disciplines are welcome.
There is a variety of terrain throughout the property.
Shoes: Shoes or Boots HIGHLY recommended. Everyone who thought there horse would be fine. Changed their mind after the first ride.
Facility: Gravel roads throughout the property and entrance
Arena: Sand footing
Trails: Gravel all around arena and roads (shoes or boots recommended) Dirt, mixed gravel, wooded area, lots of trees
Saturday night Potluck - meat will be provided. Bring a side dish to share and your own beverages.
All other meals are on your own. However, participants are encouraged to join us on the clubhouse patio for socialization and camaraderie.
Beautiful ribbons - 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced! 1st-3rd place Junior (age 13-17), 1st-3rd place Youngin' (age 7-12), and 1st place Newcomer.
Lifetime Awards (Equine & Rider) - Sign up 2 weeks in advance to get your qualifying awards!
Equine Awards - Your equine will earn a beautiful kilt pin adding copper, bronze, silver, and golden carrot charms as they progress through the levels. Equine points accumulate no matter who rides the equine.
Rider Awards - You will earn a beautiful kilt pin adding copper, bronze, silver, and golden star charms as you progress through the levels. Rider Points accumulate no matter which equine is ridden.
Belt Buckles: Those who participate in both the July and August Tamarind Ranch events are eligible to win a belt buckle. Custom belt buckle will to to the winners of combined high point in the categories of Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Newby (first year participating)
A $20 Ranch Fee for each day of participation will be collected the day of the event in addition to camping and stall fees.
Event Haul-ins (no camping/ no stalls) will be required to pay a $20 Haul-in fee per day, per equine.
Additional equines (even if in personal containment) are required to pay $20 per day, per equine.
Payment for ALL Amenities reserved at the time of online registration are due ON SITE and are NOT collected at the time of online registration. Cash, Check or Zelle payments can be made in advance or at registration.
Registering online will give you the best (early bird) pricing! There is a $10 increase per entry for onsite registration.
The Tamarind Ranch Trails will be available for use on the Monday following the event. Fees are listed in the details.

Location: Tamarind Ranch is apprx 7.6 miles east off Interstate 205 in the community of Redland in Oregon City OR.
Jamestown Ranch (where the Sunday event will be held) is .02 miles SW of Tamarind Ranch on the opposite side of the street.
Gate: If you arrive during the event hours the entry gate will be open.
