About The Venue

Cowboy Campground is located 1/2 mile past Idaho City off Hwy 21, nestled in the shade of the pines, near the Idaho City rodeo grounds. Our campground features steel pole horse pens for your horses with water containers, fire rings, picnic tables, fresh water, a large sand arena, and other horse activities. There is access to miles of Boise National Forest trails.

Check out historic Idaho city! Great little stores and places to eat. Don't forget the Hot springs! Located about 3 miles before Idaho city! And check this out...you can ride right into town from camp and tie your horses up at the hitching post in town!!!

Extra-large Rigs/Trailers are welcome, please contact me first because spots are limited.

Day parking is available at Idaho City Rodeo grounds (located just beside us).

Event Details

We are doing an In hand obstacle course on Friday, see Agenda for times. Saturday and Sunday will be Trail Challenges 6 to 7 Miles in distance. 

The Terrain

The terrain has very nice dirt trails with a rocky area in the beginning (only about 1/2 mile), then you're back on the dirt trail. Some uphill and downhill.

In-hand will be done in open areas without fences or pens.

Potluck on Saturday night. Pulled Pork!!!

Awards

Beautiful ribbons 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced! 1st-3rd place Junior (age 13-17), 1st-3rd place Youngin' (age 7-12), and 1st place Newcomer!

Our ride will be a Buckle tournament with 4 other rides.
