Located in the Dee Flats area of the upper Hood River Valley the Beam Ranch was established in 2018 by Chad & Crystal Beam to provide a multi use equestrian facility on the western slopes of MIddle Mountain. A large lighted arena as well as a mile warm up track are just a few of the amenities that await you. Location is beautiful and we are blessed to be able to secure this location for our events.
Trails will be safe but challenging as your ride out of the base. The In-Hand Course will be near our base area in the meadow and surrounding land, while the Obstacle Trail Challenge will meander thru some forested land, possible creek crossings and have moderate uphill and downhills. The Trail Challenge will be approximately 5-7 miles and will be a climb to a wonderful view point. The trail will have some rocky places and has been described as a moderate to difficult elevation gain and decent of about 1500 feet in 2.5 miles, footing is solid on old logging roads.
Enjoy sitting in the camping area with spectacular view with plenty of dry camping, water is available, and there is no problems getting those big rigs in. Limited Pen Rentals are available. Personal Portable Metal Corrals are acceptable, including hot wire pens or highline containment systems..
Day riders very welcome.
Wildlife is abundant and we will skirt farmland and possibly some free range cattle.
Please keep your dogs contained or on a leash and picked up after at all times as the ranch dogs will be on patrol.
Come join us for 2 days of events & relaxing trail and arena riding in the Upper Hood River Valley, on the west slopes of Middle Mountain. IH will take place at the base area and the OT & TC will be out of the base area up on the surrounding forest land. Bring your thinking cap as obstacles will be challenging.
Day Riders Very Welcome. Saturday Night Dinner Gathering, Bring your favorite dish to share & beverages of your choice.
Port-a-potty will be located near the arena.
Please pack your trash out with you.. .
Please dispose of your manure in the designated area.
If you have any questions please see me.
Dogs must be kept on a leash or contained at all times and must be picked up after, Ranch dogs will be on patrol.
Trails will be safe yet challenging and will be suitable for all ages and abilities. Some areas are rocky, you know your equine and your choice is best, barefoot, boots or shod.
We will be riding on old logging accesses, brushy trails with moderate to difficult elevation inclines and decents. Plenty of shade on the trails.
Breakfast and Lunch on your own. We are in the process of trying to find a food truck for the weekend however, that may or may not happen. There is a grocery store and restaurant in Parkdale located about 5 miles south of this location.
Saturday night dinner will be a Pot Luck. Please bring your favorite dish to share and your own plates and flatware and beverage of your choice.
