About The Venue

The morning In-Hand & Afternoon Obstacle Challenge will be held at Foundation Horsemanship, in Victor, Montana. We are approximately 41 miles south of Missoula, Montana. The distance to Country Road from the Sheafman Creek turn off, at Highway 93 is approximately 8/10 of a mile. The distance from the turn-off onto Country Road to the gate of our property is approximately 3/10 of a mile. 

Obstacles include both natural and man-made challenges on our two-acre course. 

There is a large outdoor arena on site. There are 2 round pens and 3 covered pens. Round pens can have up to two compatible horses at the same time for overnight. Covered pens can have one horse only. No RV hookups on-site, but limited human dry camping is available.  We are unable to accommodate portable pens at this time. Regular pens and round pens are available to reserve when you register online (payable onsite)

Off-site boarding for horses is available by calling Shining Mountain Equestrian Stables and asking for Tonya at 406-360-9654. She can tell you cost, availability etc. 

There is a $5.00 ranch fee that has been added to the Obstacle Course, those who only do the In-hand will pay Ranch fee on site. 

Event Details

Saturday morning event will be an In-hand (not mounted) event at Foundation Horsemanship beginning at 9 a.m.

Saturday afternoon will be an Obstacle Course (mounted) at Foundation Horsemanship after In-Hand is completed.

This event is part of the Northwest Saddle Series 

Parking is angle out only and at a reasonable distance to other trailers.

The Terrain

The In-Hand & Obstacle Challenges will take place in a 2-acre grass pasture on our 20-acre property, where the obstacle course is set up. There is no riding on other parts of the property at this time.

Meals

No food or water on site. Please come prepared.

Awards

Beautiful ribbons 1st-3rd place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced! 

Additional Fees

Payment for ALL Amenities reserved at the time of online registration are due ON SITE and are NOT collected at the time of online registration.

Additional Opportunities

Private and group lessons are available the Sunday after the event. Participants must pay prior to a scheduled lesson, and have a signed Foundation Horsemanship release form handed in. Rates may be found at https://foundationhorseman.wixsite.com/foundation/lessons-1
