About The Venue

Tempel Farms is home to the world famous Tempel Lipizzans. Their mission since 1958 has been to promote classical dressage and the Lipizzan breed in the US through a careful breeding and training program. Public exhibitions and tours educate and entertain on the history of this classical art. The Lipizzan breed is considered an endangered domestic animal with numbers less than 12,000 worldwide.

Mill Creek Hunt is privileged to ride the rolling hills of Tempel Farms during the fox hunting (or, more precisely, coyote chasing) season. Tempel Farms is not accessible to trail riders normally so we are very excited and thankful to give YOU exclusive access to this beautiful property for a 2023 Trail Challenge!!

Stalls are not available; your horse must be comfortable tied to (or in) your trailer while you attend rider briefing and awards. 

No dogs are allowed at Tempel Farms or Mill Creek Hunt. If you are bringing a documented service dog, please contact the event host in advance.

Event Details

Breakfast and social hour INCLUDED for registered riders!

5 mile Trail Challenge with obstacles along the trail. Obstacles will include natural elements and obstacles installed just for this event. Obstacles will feature challenges you might encounter while fox hunting. The mounted sport of following well-trained hounds as they pursue a coyote is much more accessible than you might think!

Stalls are NOT available at Tempel Farms. Your horse must be comfortable tied to your trailer (or in your trailer) while you attend rider briefing and awards.

Coggins required and will be checked upon arrival. No dogs are allowed at Tempel Farms or Mill Creek Hunt. If you are bringing a documented service dog, please contact the event host in advance.

The Terrain

Gently rolling hills, some woods. Grass trails. Some gravel and shallow water crossings.

Meals

Delicious breakfast INCLUDED for registered riders - coffee cake, sausage, deviled eggs, coffee, juice! Breakfast is available for purchase for guests in Amenities. Pre-ordering recommended but some will be available for day-of purchase.

Social hour at Mill Creek Hunt, just a mile from Tempel Farms, INCLUDED for registered riders - teriyaki chicken, sides, beer, wine, non-alcholic beverages, kennel tours and socializing. Social hour available for purchase for guests in Amenities. Pre-ordering recommended but some will be available for day-of purchase. 

Awards

Beautiful ribbons 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced! 1st-3rd place Junior (age 13-17), 1st-3rd place Youngin' (age 7-12), and 1st place Newcomer!

Prize for Best Turn-Out so spiffy up your tack, horse and yourself!

Payment for all Amenities reserved at the time of online registration are due ON SITE and are NOT collected at the time of online registration.

A $25 Mill Creek Hunt membership fee will be added to your registration and includes: Breakfast and social hour for registered riders and $50 off Mill Creek Hunt Clinic the very next day (normally $100). If you cannot attend the clinic, you can have one free guest hunt during the 2023 season.

The first Mill Creek Hunt Clinic of 2023 will be held on Sunday, June 11 at Mill Creek Hunt. Stalls are available Saturday night so make a weekend of it! Clinic agenda includes light breakfast, unmounted education on the sport and history, tack/apparel, kennel tour and introductions to the MCH hounds, and etiquette/protocol when riding in the hunt field. Following lunch, we mount up for a trail ride through hunt country! Clinic is normally $100; June 10 ETS participants receive $50 off.
