Diamond Valley Lake is the largest man-made lake in the state of California. The Northwest Trailhead Equestrian Area was opened in 2004 with pull-through parking for 25 horse trailers. There are shade covered picnic areas, a port-a-potty, and water available.
No overnight camping on site, see below for camping possibilities
This event will benefit Wounded Warrior Project (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
The Trail Challenge will include 6-8 military themed judged obstacles with the option to pick your level of challenge from three different versions of that obstacle!
A "silent raffle" will also be included with "prizes" ranging from gently used tack to brand new "horsie" items. Please bring cash for raffle tickets, food, donations, and your $5 EMMP fee (California requirement).
Trails are flat and mainly decomposed granite or soft dirt. There will be an optional climb up the hill for a Winchester/Hemet/ San Jacinto Valley overview.
The Clayton A. Record Jr. Viewpoint is adjacent to the Equestrian Area and is another optional ride or drive.
Continental breakfast (donuts, coffee, juice) will be available for purchase before the ride and lunch (burgers and dogs, chips, soda, water, cookies) after the ride.
Beautiful ribbons 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced and special awards for Shout Outs.
California EMMP fee of $5 (will be collected at check-in, CASH ONLY)

We recommend "horse-pooling" as we are limited to 25 pull-through spaces with a small overflow area.

From I-215 take Newport exit and head East approximately 8 miles. Newport will become Domenigoni Road. At Winchester Road take a right. Turn left at the next signal at East Newport Road. Go past the Winchester Swap Meet to the guard gate. Proceed through the gate, take the dirt road to the left and follow the signs to the facility.
From I-10 take the Beaumont Ave (79) exit and head south into Hemet continuing as the road turns into Sanderson Ave. At Domenigoni Road, turn right heading west. Turn left onto Winchester Road. Turn left at the next signal at East Newport Road. Go past the Winchester Swap Meet to the guard gate. Proceed through the gate, take the dirt road to the left and follow the signs to the facility.
