Shining Hope Farms is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2002 whose mission is to enable children and adults with disabilities to achieve functional goals through the use of equine assisted activities and Therapy. We operate three locations in the western Piedmont region of North Carolina. These locations include our original location in Mt. Holly, a satellite farm in Charlotte, and our newest satellite location in Conover, NC. In addition, we operate a small therapy services program at a ranch in Gastonia, NC.
Historically 85% of our patients make functional gains; including improvements in head-control, trunk control, speech patterns, as well as the ability to walk. These functional gains, made during equine-assisted therapy, help transform the lives of our clients and their families.
Funds from this ETS event will support our programs; enabling our organization to provide much-needed life-altering services. Shining Hope Farms is a gold level participant with GuideStar, a leading symbol of transparency and accountability.

The Conover Farm offers an outdoor arena, a 100 x 200 enclosed arena, a round pen, 20 acres of pastures with run-in sheds, and 110 acres of beautiful wooded trails which wrap around Lake Hickory in the foothills of The Blue Ridge Mountains.
Our facility offers 2 indoor restrooms and a hot/cold water wash bay.

Saturday AM: In-Hand Obstacle Course. All 8 obstacles to be completed unmounted, utilizing halter and lead rope.
Saturday PM: 4 mile Trail Obstacle Course. 8 obstacles located throughout our trail system.
Safety is our top priority. ATSM approved helmets are highly recommended. Boots or shoes required, no open-toed shoes (sandals, flip-flops, etc.) to be worn on the property.
We are excited to offer competition opportunities through Equine Trail Sports and are looking forward to hosting you!
Shining Hope Farms offers over one hundred acres of trails to enjoy with your horse including farm fields, timber, hills, creeks, and our North Carolina clay.
Meals and concessions will be available for purchase. Prices vary.

An unguided Recreational Ride is offered on our well-marked trails for 13.50 for youth and 26.00 for adults.

If coming from Hickory, use Springs Road NE and take slight left onto St. Peters Church Road (you will see Sig's Tire). Follow for about 1 mile. Barn will be on your left.
Heading north on I-40, take exit 138 toward Oxford School Road and follow for about 5 miles. Turn right onto Hwy 16 N. Follow for about 3 miles. Turn left onto St. Peter's Church Road. Drive about 1 mile and barn will be on your right.
If coming from Charlotte, Heading north on Hwy 16, follow Hwy 16 N (will be around 40 miles or so) and turn left onto St. Peter's Church road. Drive about 1 miles and barn will be on your right.
