About The Venue

Newfield Farm is a 100 acre sport horse training facility specializing in racing Thoroughbreds and Arabian and Thoroughbred show and sport horses. They will soon be putting in a three day eventing practice course.  They are also an excellent location for endurance and trail training as many trails to include the PCT and Beauty Mountain Wilderness are nearby.

They have a 5/8 of a mile training track, multiple full service barns, miles of groomed bridle paths all with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.  As they are at an elevation of 3900 feet, the mountain plateau averages around 81-83 degrees as the high during the summer, much cooler than the surrounding inland areas.

Event Details

This entire trail system at this ranch is fenced in, so it is the perfect venue for equestrians that are new to ETS or obstacles, or horses/riders that are not as experienced on the trail.  If you are an experienced rider/competitor, there are plenty of obstacles you can use as a challenge.

On Saturday we will have a 3-4 mile Obstacle Trial (OT) in the morning followed by an Obstacle Course (OC) in the afternoon.  If you decide to do both, you will be put into one of the earlier groups for the Obstacle Trial in order to give you time to get back, get you and your equine partner some refreshments, and complete your OC.  This will also allow us to have our awards ceremony at a more convenient time for everyone who may not be staying the night.

On Sunday we will have a 2 mile OT in the morning immediately followed by an OC so that those traveling from long distances or possibly out of state can have more time to travel home.

*Competitors are welcome to stay the night on Sunday in order to travel home on Monday if more convenient!

*All guests must clean up manure and wasted hay/grain and deposit it in the designated areas for our tractor to come by and clean it up.

The Terrain

This is a good venue for older horses as the terrain is mostly flat with some very mild gentle slopes and no hills to climb.  Footing is very good with some areas of compact dirt, other areas of groomed dirt, and other areas of typical fields. There is minimal rocks, so barefoot horses should be ok.

There will be plenty of water available for your horses to drink out on the course!

Meals

We will be providing breakfast and lunch on both Saturday and Sunday.  Overnight guests are on their own for dinner. Breakfast on Saturday will be a continental/self serve breakfast of muffins, pastries, donuts, yogurt, cereal, juices, fruit, etc. Lunch on Saturday will be hamburgers and hot dogs with sides of potato salad, chips, and drinks (soda, water, etc).

Breakfast on Sunday will be breakfast burritos and hashbrowns/potatoes with beverages.  Lunch on Sunday will be pasta with salad and drinks.
