About The Venue

The El Dorado County Fairgrounds is a beautiful venue located just about a mile off Highway 50 in Placerville.  Easy access trailer parking through the BLUE GATE has plenty of room for large and small rigs alike.

The large, covered Henningsen Arena is where we'll be for check-in and competition located next to the trailer parking area.

Event Details

Saturday In-Hand Obstacle Challenge (IH) - the In-Hand event obstacles are completed dismounted. You may be saddled, halters with leads are recommended. All non-riding equines are welcome and encouraged to compete!

Saturday Mounted Obstacle Course Challenge (OC) - the Mounted event obstacles are completed while riding in the saddle in the arena. All riding disciplines are welcome as well as bit-less headstalls.

Sunday 2 Mounted Obstacle Course Challenges (OC) - the Mounted event obstacles are completed while riding in the saddle in the arena. All riding disciplines are welcome as well as bit-less headstalls.

Awards

Beautiful ribbons 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced Per Event!

1st-3rd place Junior (age 13-17)

1st-3rd place Youngin' (age 7-12)

and 1st place Newcomer!

These events, with the exception of the Jackpot & Gambler's Choice Challenge, qualify for:

2024 NorCal SPRING Buckle Series (awarded at our June 1-2 event weekend)

Additional Fees

Payment for ALL Amenities (camping, stalls, parking, CA Drug Fee) reserved at the time of online registration are due ON SITE and are NOT collected at the time of online registration.

Event Host Directions:

Event venue can be found via GPS. You will use the address 239 Amory Ln, Placerville, CA 95667

Entrance through Blue Gate (signs will be posted)

From Sacramento: Take Highway 50 East. Placerville is about 45 minutes out of Sacramento. Take Placerville Drive/Forni Rd exit. Stay to the right and pass back over the highway, turn right on Armory Ln, enter through blue gate.

From Plymouth: Take Highway 49 North to El Dorado, turn Right on Pleasant Valley Rd, turn left on Missouri Flat Rd. Take Hwy 50 East one exit to Placerville Dr/Forni Rd. exit. stay to the right and pass over the highway, turn right on Armory Ln, enter through blue gate.

From Auburn: Take Highway 49 South to Coloma, take road straight out of Coloma, Cold Springs Rd. Follow to Cool Water Creek Rd. (second stop sign), turn right to Green Valley Rd. turn left to Placerville Dr (stop light), turn Right on to Placerville Dr, turn left on Armory Ln, enter through blue gate.

From South Lake Tahoe: Take Highway 50 West. Placerville is about 1 1/2 hours out of South Lake Tahoe. Take the second Placerville Drive exit. Turn right onto Placerville Dr,.turn right on Armory Ln, enter through blue gate.
