About The Venue

NEW VENUE FOR 2024!  

Dating back to 1945, the South Seattle Saddle Club is a not-for-profit member owned and maintained equine facility located in Maple Valley, WA. The 14-acre oasis is tucked away less than a mile off Hwy 18 with Cedar River frontage surrounded by acres of greenbelt and woods. The facility includes a large outdoor riding arena, round pen, club house, covered event patio, camping hookups (electric only), and horseshoe pits. 

Event Details

You can expect great people, beautiful views, and challenging obstacles. Whether this is your first time competing with ETS, or a seasoned rider, this will be a fun weekend for all! 

Friday - Check-in and Meet & Greet

Saturday - In hand & Obstacle Course

In Hand (IH) – a dismounted event in an arena/field, halter and lead rope preferred. All equines welcome – any size, breed, and age.

Obstacle Course (OC) – a mounted event in an arena/field. A saddle (treeless included) and headstall with reins are required. All riding disciplines are welcome.

  • Potluck dinner

Sunday - Obstacle Challenge 

Obstacle Challenge (OT) – A leisurely 2 mile ride in and around the saddle club property with 8 obstacles. Multiple horses per rider allowed. 

The Terrain

We will be using the outdoor sand arena and greenbelt and woods for the In-Hand and Obstacle Course challenges. Terrain is mostly soft dirt, sand and grass.  Accessing the Cedar River will be sand, gravel and maybe some rocks.

The Trail Challenge will be a variety of terrain including dirt, gravel and some rocky spots, as well as crossing asphalt streets.

Awards

Beautiful ribbons 1st-6th place in Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced plus special ribbons for Youth & Youngin' riders for each event. Weekend Partnership Awards for Male, Female & Youth Riders. 

Qualified series riders will be competing for Trinity Trail Events Trail Boss Challenge Championship awards. See Trinity Trail Events Trail Boss Challenge Tournament Series for additional details.

ETS Lifetime Awards FOR BOTH EQUINE AND RIDER - Sign up 2 weeks in advance to get your qualifying awards.

EQUINE CARROT CLUB - Equine earn points; Your equine will earn a beautiful kilt pin adding copper, bronze, silver, and golden carrot charms as they progress through the levels. Equine Placement Points accumulate no matter who rides the equine. 

STAR RIDER CLUB - RIDERS earn points; You will earn a beautiful kilt pin adding copper, bronze, silver, and golden star charms as you progress through the levels. This kilt pin will come with an Equine Trail Sports iron-on patch to attach it to. Rider Placement Points accumulate no matter which equine is ridden. 

Additional Fees

Payment for ALL Amenities reserved at the time of online registration are due ON SITE and are NOT collected at the time of online registration. Payment can be made with cash, check, PayPal, Venmo or credit card (3% fee applies).
